Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 造形藝術研究所 === 96 === Geometric shapes as basic elements of composition, which from now on become a starting point in the creative process, remind artists of familiar objects in order to represent a new space. In this new space, a compressed space, these basic geometric shapes become complicated and fill in a whole picture; furthermore, the compressed images in a space construct a visual shake, a reproduction of new concrete figures. Space continuously changing and transferring, is displayed on canvas through which images present not only the whole picture but a transit. Figures on the canvas transfer into the alternative objects filling viewers’ vision, and like a magnifying glass reveal the daily life. Space is mobile, black in black and white in white, through with images, concrete figures, produce a unmeasured space filled in a whole picture, and we could called it as “ compressed space.” Concrete boundaries of frame could no longer separate space in the painting, since the space of painting is fantasy; only through the human consciousness, this space in the picture is meaningful. Fortunately, the ultimate concern in art area is not argumentative, and relies on creators’ inner minds where everything could expand unlimitedly on the physical canvas. No matter what is being portrayed, artists should hold existing “thoughts” to describe the sensory impression by their “hearts”. That is just a dialectical method for authors to present their “own” feelings.
