Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 機械工程學研究所 === 96 === In this study, the Stirling engine was changed with air as working liquid at an changing pressure of 1 atm. A gamma type Stirling engine was built base on the improvement of the previous design in the laboratory. Two tests were performed by using two different type of heat sources. The first test was conducted by means of an electric heater combined with a temperature controlling system. In the second test, the engine was driven by the energy generated from the combustion of syngas produced by a downdraft biomass gasifier. In both experiments. The torque and shaft power of the engine at different engine speeds were measured. Experimental results obtained by an electric heater, heating temperatures of 600℃, 650℃, and 700℃, and 750℃ indicated that the engine torque and shaft power increase as the increasing heating temperature. The maximum torque of 23N.cm was obtained at 750℃ and 111.6 rpm, a max shaft power of 3.59W was reached at 750℃ and 244.87 rpm. Test results of the combined heat and power system indicate that the Stirling engine can run smoothly and be continuously driven by the combustion heat of the syngas produced by the gasifier. A maximum engine speed of 463 rpm and a maximum shaft power of 3.12 W were reached in the tests performed.
