Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 機械工程學研究所 === 96 === Optical disk drives have become popular owing to the increase of electronic information in recent years. Various types of slot-in optical drives are available in the market. These designs focus themselves on the disk pull-in and positioning functions. Using theories of mechanisms, this research attempts to analyze current slot-in optical drives by investigating their degrees of freedom, transmission angles, and mechanical advantage. The model of virtual prototyping is also established to enhance analysis efficiency. A new auto-centering mechanism which is simpler in structure is constructed. By structural synthesis, the most appropriate mechanism are found and analyzed by kinematic and dynamic equations of motion. Lengths of links and the force required to push the disk are calculated, and validated by experiments. The stiffness of torsional spring used in the new mechanism is determined under conditions that the maximum push force do not exceed current drives and the sliders will not be jammed by friction. This information can be used to design slot-in optical drives in the future.
