Various kinds of divination methods are seen and flooded everywhere in our modern life, wherein the predictive destined phenomenon is also seen in the fantasy novel.
This research is to probe into the effect of the prophetic elements and the prophecies applied by the author J. K. Rowling in the stories of the seven series of Harry Potter as well as the prophetic tricks performed to the readers by the author.
This research shows that Rowling used a lot of prophetic tricks in the plots when creating the stories, and she also set up suspicious atmospheres and used the prophecy in the magic world as the clue to link up the stories in the seven series. Her writing techniques commonly arranged in the stories include the hint and the foreshadowing, the amazement and the climax, and the exposure and the enlightenment. In every chapter, many hints are given to the reader. Although the beginning of the story done by J. K. Rowling came from the prophecy made by gods to the leading character and the prophecy came true at the end of the stories, the importance of free will was been strongly emphasized in the stories.
Rowling has considered “love” and “death” the main theme. In the stories, caring scenes regarding social humanity, rich story contents, and the importance of hinted love and respect are intertwined, enlightening the young reader to go into the world of illusion without losing the concern for the real world.
