Behaviors of children and the adolescents are especially affected from TV programs as they spend much more time in front of the TV set. Those effects might be much more than those from education, even school or families, however, those”impacts” might be both positive and negative. Subtitle shown on the TV programs might exist effectiveness to learning a language. Using Semanto-phonietic writing systems as subtitle might bring better effectiveness than using alphabets systems on language understanding as different information processing in the brain between them. The effects could be awarded as there are only Taiwan and China, countries that using semanto-phonietic writing systems as their writing language, put subtitle on almost all of their TV programs. This thesis will structure awareness processes and application programs of language understanding and learning through theory studies and empirical tests.
