Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 造形設計學系玩具與遊戲設計碩士班 === 96 === The rapid advance of information technology has made a stronger connection between multimedia and education than before. However, most studies only focus on the comparison of the teaching effects with traditional printed storybook and e-books, and leave the sedentary life style resulted from the common use of computer in the learning process of Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI), out of consideration.
In this research, multi-modal interactions are considered for an e-book design to blend the fun elements of interaction into the story. The sense of touching a book like the traditional way is retained and the particular multimedia interaction of e-books is extended to avoid the traditional one-way display mode. It is for enhancing children’s visual sensation, aural sensation, tactile sensation, and kinesthesia. The proposed design of interactive story-houses contains visual, aural, and tactile sensations, which provide a greater satisfaction for children’s activities and movements and improve the understanding of story and interestingness for children. By the observation of children’s attention with the printed book, the e-book and the story-house, this thesis finds that when the interaction gets funnier, the children get less disturbances of attention in the story-house design.
