Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 教育傳播與科技研究所 === 96 === “Information-technology Embedded Instruction (ITEI)” implies information technology is integrated into classroom activities. It provides opportunities to enhance learning for general student as well as for students with special needs.
This research was conducted over a ten-month period from September 2007 to June 2008. The participants are elementary resource classroom teachers in Taipei Country. Fifty-four questionnaires were collected from participating teachers and eight personal interviews were conducted to achieve an in-depth understanding of current issues and factors that affect the ITEI into resource classroom. The findings were as follow:
1.Teachers had a certain degree of understanding of ITEI; the attitude were positive. however, teaching time, inadequate in-classroom technology facilities, and school support were not enough.
2.Most teachers meet the requirement of “20 % of the total teaching hour with ITEI”; “The Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi)” falls mostly under level two, exploration.
3.Both “ resource classroom style” and “ the learning advantage of students” were found to have significant relationship with the LoTi; significant differences were also manifested in “ students’ ability” and the amount the time teachers employ ITEI.
4.Teachers encounter difficulties in implementing ITEI due to: students’ abilities, time- consuming in finding or making instructional materials, and lack of related equipment and support.
Based on the findings, following suggestions were made:
1.Form special advisory council to reinforce the implementation of ITEI in Elementary Resource Classroom.
2.Resource classroom teachers in elementary schools should be given the priority in selecting schedule of classes and receiving IT support.
3.Resource classroom teachers should seek professional development, explore ways to grow, facilitate collaborative teaching, and make better use of teaching pedagogies and materials to advance the effectiveness of ITEI.
