However, the ecological ponds are various in every single school, the profile efficiency is dissimilar as well. In order to comprehend the species of animals and plants, formulations and design, and furthermore, the state of plan in administration about the ecological ponds of every elementary schools, this research has investigated into the one hundred and twenty four elementary schools installed the ponds in Taipei County. It had been researched to keep track of the types of ecological ponds, along with sorts of animals and plants by means of field investigation of the circumstances, choose twenty of those schools to survey and based on environmental area, then proceed interviews with ecological pond conservators of two case of schools at length. With the field investigation census, the questionnaires as well as the content of interviews with conservators, we expect to grasp the state of plan in administration and management situation about the ecological l ponds of elementary schools. According to those materials, we can also propose the recommendation toward the future project and administration of ecological l ponds in schools. Eventually, by way of the data analysis, some consequences obtained that are followed: 1.The campus ecological ponds of Taipei county elementary schools are ornamental type for the most part, teaching material types are second to them, and ecological learning types are the least ones. 2.The fountains of ecological ponds of Taipei county elementary schools are mostly tap-water; all the depth is within the safety range. 3.Ecological pond conservators are mainly either general affairs directors or science teachers, their major duties are chiefly to see after the hydrophytes. 4.Macropodus opercularis, Gambusia affinis, and Cprinus carpio are the most common species of the released animals in ecological ponds of Taipei county elementary schools. 5.Nymphaea hybrida, Pistia stratiotes L., Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms, and Cyperus alternifolius are the most familiar species of vegetation in ecological ponds of Taipei county elementary schools. 6.The campus ecological ponds are able to increase the teaching resources and supply teaching materials to students, provide them opportunities to experience the fieldworks. 7.Ecological Ponds have its real benefits in environmental education, not merely for enabling students to recognize the aquatic animals and plants, but acquiring the concept of environmental protection. 8.Ecological Ponds have gained positive appraisals for teaching circumstances of school and green on campus by most of the parents and conservators. 9.Schools should take account of the requirement in itself while installing ecological ponds, project it with matching the surroundings up; besides, invite scholars and experts to participate in the projection.
