碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 音樂學系碩士班 === 97 === Mr. Fu-Jhen Shih has written more than 400 children’s songs in Southern Fujian Language (SFL) since he composed the first one “Tiam a Ka” in 1964. This research focuses on analyzing the features of his SFL children’s songs, and tries to disclose the reasons that make him devote himself to SFL children’s songs’ composing & popularizing. Document Analysis is used to explore Mr. Shih’s compositional life, methods & procedures of composing songs, and the principles to deal with lyrics and melodies. In order to generalize the features of Mr. Shih’s SFL children’s songs, this article also make efforts using Content Analysis to delve into lyrics, ranges, tonality(ies), time signature(s), baritone(s), form(s), and rhythm(s) of his music. Mr. Shih’s music is interpreted in a whole new way, and the conclusions are checked by an interview record. After analyzing Mr. Shih’s songs, 7 following conclusions are drawn: 1. The texts of SFL children’s songs are mostly chosen from life. 2. The range of melodies is mainly within an octave. 3. Pentatonic scales are largely used in the SFL children’s songs. 4. The rate of using 2/4﹙time signature﹚is the highest. 5. The songs are mostly within sixteen measures. 6. As to dealing with the musical form,one-part-form is in the highest rate. 7. The amount of using rhythms is shown as follows ﹙from high to low﹚： Quarter note, eighth note and half note. After sorting and analyzing Mr. Shih’s music, we hope that teachers will have more choices of materials when teaching mother tongue and music.
