碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 社會科教育學系碩士班 === 96 === The main idea of this thesis is about Taiwan Shin Sheng Daily News which is the biggest newspaper publication in the early post-war era. Through the primary source, such as the archives of the Taiwan Provincial Administrative Office and Taiwan Provincial Government, etc., this research deals with the development of the authority-operated media in order to fill in the part of blank about the Taiwan newspapers development in the early post-war era (1945-1949) Through the study on Taiwan Shin Sheng Daily News, this thesis rebuilds the historical process of receiving media by the authority. It also points out that the authority turns the private newspapers and broadcasts into the authority-operated media by receiving Japanese assets under the party-state capitalism. The authority would expand the scale of the authority-operated media and makes it become the huge machine to monopolize the speech market. In addition, with the special history background in Taiwan, this thesis also recoganizes the development of the authority-operated media in 1945-1949 through receiving Japanese assets, language switch, 228 Incident, etc. Except for analyzing the process from receiving newspapers to becoming authority-operated media under party-state capitalism, this thesis discusses the authority-operated newspapers how the organization of personnel affairs and property are, how to design the layouts of printed sheets, and what the speech roles are. Furthermore, the former researchers often used the cultural hegemony theory to explain the relations between the media and authority in the Martial Law Period. Before adopting those viewpoints, we must recognize the history background of Taiwan newspapers development in the early post-war era of this thesis mention. To sum up, the development of Taiwan newspapers is a history that the authority-operated media obtain a top point of the media development.
