These controllers allow making the design of PoE simpler and more reliable. As PoE is increasingly embraced by the market, more and more Client Primitive Equipments (CPE) are capable of acquiring electric power directly from Ethernet cable and RJ-45 connector. However, current IEEE 802.3af standard sets limit of power supply to 15.4W only, and the CPE at most can use only 12.95W of that supply. If the power demand in some applications surpasses IEEE 802.3af standard, then the designers are forced to develop a non-standard solution. The highest design principle is to seek a solution that allows the power source equipment to generate sufficient electric power. This thesis aims to develop a non-standard design method that can effectively increase electric power supply. Our result has shown that the proposed method is capable of increasing the power supply up to 25W. Jung-Chien Li 李榮乾 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 80 zh-TW |

碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 電機工程學系 === 96 === Since IEEE 802.3af (Power-over-Ethernet, PoE) standard was released in June, 2003, many applications including network telephony and wireless network access points have started to adopt this new standard, and many kinds of PoE power source controller conforming to IEEE 802.3af standard and applicable to connect both ends of Ethernet cable, namely power source equipment (PSE) controller and the power-consuming equipment (i.e. Powered Device, PD) controller.
