The study of chemical compositions by using principal component analysis in coastal seawater of Northern Taiwan

碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 海洋環境資訊學系 === 96 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the chemical compositions of seawater in northern coastal area of Taiwan. Both upper and lower water were sampled from 13 stations where locate along northern Taiwan coast line (including 4 sea area: Taoyaun-Hsinchu,...

Both upper and lower water were sampled from 13 stations where locate along northern Taiwan coast line (including 4 sea area: Taoyaun-Hsinchu, Taipei, Keelung, and Yilan) for 19 cruises during 2003 ~2007 . 15 for chemical parameters including water temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen, suspended solids , chlorophyll a, nitrate nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, phosphate, silicate and other heavy metals such as copper, zinc, mercury, arsenic were analyzed to identify the contribution factors for marine environment. The results indicate that water temperature rising ,but nitrate decreasing in both surface and bottom water layers during the study period.Furthermore, Yilan sea water is chacterized by the relative higher temperature and salinity, but by the relative lower concentration of suspended particles. These results correspond with the characteristics of the Kuroshio. The results of correlation and principal component analysis show that seasonal ,continental and biological sources are three factors for sea water quality in the northern coast areas of Taiwan.
