Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 教育學系在職進修碩士班 === 96 === The main purpose of this study was to understand the status quo of job stress and burnout of the directors in junior high school student affairs in Taipei region, to compare the difference of junior high school directors’ job stress and burnout with different background variables and to investigate the relationship between job stress and burnout of junior high school directors.
This study took questionnaire survey as study tool. A self-developed questionnaire, “ Survey of Junior High School Directors’ Perception of Job Stress and Burnout” was distributed to all the public junior high school directors in Taipei region and 230 relevant copies were collected. The data of this survey was processed by SPSS statistics software. The statistical methods of mean, standard deviation, t test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product moment correlation and stepwise multiple regressions were used to verify hypotheses.
Based on the data analyses, the findings of the study were summarized as follows:
1. The job stress of junior high school directors was medium degree. Among the causes of job stress, “job loading” came out at the top and “stress of interpersonal relationship” at the bottom.
2. The burnout of junior high school directors was relatively low. Among the causes of burnout, “reduced personal accomplishment” came out at the top and “depersonalization” at the bottom.
3. Junior high school directors who were male, young, and lower educational background had
higher job stress.
4. There were not significant difference on burnout among the different background .
5. There were significant differences in burnout of junior high school directors who had
different degrees of job stress.
6. The whole job stress and burnout were presented none-significant correlation, but there was significant correlation in respect of “emotional exhaustion” and reduced personal accomplishment. The whole burnout and the stratified in respect of “job loading”,”discipline for students” were presented significant correlation.
From the above findings and conclusions, some suggestions were made for reference of educational administrative institutions, school administration, directors of junior high school students affairs, and further future study.
