coordination and proficiency of children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD). Thirty elementary students with DCD were sampled in the study. Fourteen students were selected randomly as the experiment group, while the other sixteen students were the control group. The students in the experiment group received a 10-week table-tennis program as an intervention. The instruction period includes 3 times a week and 40 minutes per class. Students of both groups were assessed with the instruments Movement ABC and BOT-2, before and after the intervention. Data were collected through the test scores of Movement ABC and BOT-2 and analyzed by repeated- measures MANOVA and Pair- t test. The results showed that there were significant differences in gross coordination, manual dexterity, ball skills, and balance performance (p< .05) in Movement ABC. Significant differences were also found in gross motor proficiency, fine manual control, manual coordination, body coordination and strength and agility (p< .05) in BOT-2. Furthermore, the motor coordination of three of the fourteen students in the experiment group had gained the “normal” scores and the motor coordination performance of six students with DCD had improved to be the “suspected students with DCD” level. The author finally concluded that table-tennis teaching program might be an effective intervention to improve children with developmental coordination disorder and should be examined further in the future study.
