Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 體育學系教學碩士班 === 96 === This study was to explore the participation in the recreational sports and constraints of elementary school teachers in Tainan City. "Elementary School Teachers’ Rrecreational Sports Participation and Constraints Questionnaire" was used. The questionnaire contains
three parts: personal information, participation scale and constraints scale of recreational sports.
Raw data was analyzed in SPSS 10.0 with statistic method including descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, independent-sample t-test, Chi-square test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe-test. Totally 500 questionnaires were surveyed, 96.9% was valid for data analysis, that is, 470 questionnaires.
1. 91.5% of the teachers do recreational sports and most of teachers do recreational sports from 16:30-18:30 p.m. , On average, most teachers do recreational sports once or twice a week, and most of the duration of doing each recreational sport is between 31 to 60 minutes. Generally, the partners for doing recreational sports with these teachers are their family members. Most teachers do recreational sports at school. Among several types of the recreational sports, walking is usually the first choice.
2. Among the four structural factors of obstacles in participating the recreational sports, the chance hindering factor, the individual hindering factor, the place and its facility hindering factor, the experience hindering factor.
3. Elementary school teachers with different background show the significant variance in their recreational sports participation: in gender, age, academic background, adminis- trative area of the school, Serve the age and salary.
4. There is a significant difference in teachers’ participation and obstacles in recreational sports in age, family life cycle, Serve the age among teachers with different background variables.
Based on the recreational sports, this study suggests to elementary school teachers, school administrators, governors respecpively, and the future study.
