An introduction of Schubert’s life, his composition, the musical style of his works, and the creation and content of “Mass in A-flat Major” are explored additionally. (2) Musical expression of “Mass in A-flat Major”: By following the cycle of five texts in the mass-the Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei-the relationship between lyrics and music is further explored. In addition, we explore the relationship between the tonality, cadence, motif and melody line to understand the musical expressions embodied in each part of the Mass. According as the research we provide a reference for music appreciation teaching or music theory. (3) Musical interpretation of “Mass in A-flat Major”: Based on the overall musical expression of lyrics, style, form, motif and melody in this work, a personal interpretation of how it can be performed is presented as a reference for future performers and further research. (4) Conclusion on the study of the three parts mentioned above. Der-Lin Lee 李德淋 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 219 zh-TW
