Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 系統工程研究所碩士班 === 96 === The rehabilitation through FES-cycling device is currently an effective method for lower limbs rehabilitation. The existing FES mode has been mostly designed for spinal cord injury patients. The design philosophy is to regulate the electrical stimulation to a constant voltage and a constant current by detecting the angles of crank when a patient uses the device, which is used to assist the user to complete the action of cycling motion. However, the detection and electrical stimulation mode of the current FES-cycling rehabilitation device has not been designed exclusively for stoke patients.
In this study, an exclusive control module of FES-cycling device mode is designed for hemiplegic rehabilitation by taking the properties of hemiplegic patients into consideration. The core concept of the control is the learning model of having the affected side learn the unaffected side. In addition, the System-on-a-chip is used to handle the signal differences in crank rotation between the affected side and unaffected side, which is taken as the basis for the trigger for electrical stimulation and the current setting of electrical stimulation. Thus the control mode of non-constant electrical stimulation current used in having the affected side learn the non-affected side is established
According to the study results, in the mode we build to instruct the affected side to learn from the unaffected side of a hemiplegic patient and calculate the speed difference between the two sides with a System-on-a-chip, the results might alter the signal of electrical stimulation current, and generate the complementary signals between the two sides, so that the system might turn into a hemiplegic rehabilitation mode with a non-constant electrical stimulation current mode. However, though the accurate results might be found at the general output terminal of the control chip circuit, some non-linear output for the control will also be found when this signal was fed to the transformer of the electrical stimulator. In the future, a feedback circuit or a transformer with selected curve nature can be employed to enhance the compatibility between the control circuit and electrical stimulation.
