Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 國語文學系 === 96 === I intend to explore the historical development of Taiwanese Romanized symbols in the paper. While doing so I observed how many kinds of Taiwanese Romanized symbols in the history. The symbols seem arbitrarily created, which is not necessarily true. In the paper, I''ve collected dictionaries, teaching materials, phonetic schemes, discourse of research, and Romanized symbols in Taiwanese literature, all to understand the historical development of Romanized symbols. I inspected all the advantaged symbols in terms of consonants, vowels, and tone markers respectively to see if they fit the principles of evaluation criteria. Finally I concluded that the "Taiwanese Romanization scheme" is done legitimately. Through the aspects of development and evolution, I can thus construct a historical perspective of Taiwanese Romanization.
