Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 教育測驗統計研究所 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the relation between social interest and vocational interest from students of elementary school. To explore the relations of grade, gender, birth order with social interest and vocational interest, and to analyze the differences between the two and explore the predictions. This study adopted the investigation method of questionnaire. By means of the cluster sampling, 355 students were chosen from the fifth graders and the sixth graders in elementary school in Changhua County. The investigation applied using questionnaire as its format: the “Children’s Social Interest Questionnaire” and the “Children’s Vocational Interest Questionnaire”. We applied using a vast variety of statistic analysis, this include t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation and stepwise multiple regression. The results of the study were as follows: 1. Gender affects the social interest of each elementary school’s high grade students. 2. The difference in year level affects the six kinds of vocational interest types of each elementary school’s high grade students. 3. The gender affects the six kinds of vocational interest types of each elementary school’s high grade students. 4. There is a significant correlation between social interest and vocational interest of elementary school high grade students. 5. Gender contributed significantly to the prediction of social interest for elementary school high grade students. 6. Birth order contributed significantly to the prediction of social interest for elementary school high grade students. 7. The difference in year levels contributed significantly to the prediction of six kinds of vocational interest types for elementary school high grade students. 8. Gender contributed significantly to the prediction of six kinds of vocational interest types for elementary school high grade students. According to the above results, I have included some suggestions for career guidance and for further future research.
