The thesis includes four parts. The first part is to explore the historical background and the formation of Hegel’s thoughts concerning ethics. The second part is to interpret the content of Hegel’s thoughts. The third part is to appraise his theory, and probe into the educational thoughts of ethics of Hegel. The final part is to integrate the research results and put forward suggestions for further studies. Concerning the historical background and the formation of thoughts of ethics, Hegel was influenced by Idealism, Divinity, the philosophy of the western world, Jean- Jacques Rousseau, Immanuel Kant, Johann Gottlieb Fichte, Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph von Schelling and Friedrich Hölderlin. Besides, the development of his thoughts was also deeply affected by the following three contexts: Enlightenment, Latitudinarianism and Romanticism. The content of Hegel’s thoughts concerning ethics could be integrated into the following three dimensions: (1) The Abstract Right, (2) The Morality, and (3) The Ethics. To sum up, the study is aimed to discuss ” Philosophy of Right” about Hegel’s thoughts of ethics and comes to some conclusions, including the educational meaning of the abstract right, the educational meaning of the morality, and the educational meaning of the ethics. It provides message, including (1) Human Rights Education, (2) Law-Related Education, (3) Ethics of Responsibility, (4) Moral Education, (5) Family Education, (6) Community Education, and (7) Freedom Education.
