The population of The San-guang village was about 400-600 people during the occupation of Japan and it had been already had the scale of mountain village. The San-guang village has 600-700 people around nowdays, and male ratio much more female. The background of staff in the Gao-gang police substation was different. Among staff, there were Japanese policemen, Han-Chinese and Aboriginal. Although the three kinds of staff had very different racial backgrounds, they all left away from their home for Gao-gang police substation to work owing to the favorable measures given by Taiwan Viceroy Office. The job content of the staff was mainly to preserve social order, guide farming production, and manage transactions in Commodity exchange; in addition, they were also the teachers of the Gao-Yan aborigine School. The Japanese established the Gao-Yan aborigine school in 1917. It’s the first school in the San-guang village. The teachers were the police in the Gao-gang police substation. After World War II, most principals and teachers were from Mainland. In recent years, by city turning, the prime of life population goes to strive for a job far away their home. So their children also go out with them to attend school. That’s the reason of the reduce of the population of students year by year. At the religion and faith aspect, the faith sacrificial rites of traditional Atayal cures period to still keep subsisting now, but because the paddy rice replaces millet to become main crops, making original take millet as main year old the fiesta instrument declines gradually. After World war II, the western religion streams into successfully, having already become currently San-guang the main faith of the village. Before the rule by the Japanese, economic activities of the San-guang village mainly were farming, fishing and hunting. At that time, cures period, the Japanese helps San-guang village promote agriculture becoming main economic activities. Today, the temperate zone fruit introduces, building up a new milestone for the farming history of the San-guang village. We can induce to the influence of the change by the culture upon the aborigine society from this research to the San-guang village. Because of the rule by the Japanese and gradual modernization, the San-guang village made progress in education and economy. In religion influence, they change their tradition by the west religion. And the modern is flourishing because of transportation, and information. Above all, the San-guang village present various appearance to the people.
