碩士 === 國立臺灣體育大學(桃園) === 休閒產業經營學系碩士班 === 96 === An Exploratory Study of the Travel Type Perception on Timeshare in Taiwan Abstract The purpose of this research was to understand the possibility of Timeshare in Taiwan and the correlated policies and regulations. Also the research tried to understand consumers’ attitude to travels in Taiwan and further analysis consumers’ needs to Timeshare products. Survey method was questionnaire and interviews, including academic and government agencies opinions, and 799 valid questionnaires from Taipei International Travel Fair. Based on the descriptive statistics and one-way MANOVA, the results were listed below: First, there are differences between consumers’ traveling habits and Timeshares’ type. Economic condition is the main factor which affects the development of Timeshare in Taiwan. There are no related sales regulations for Timeshare; the business deal should be public. Second, there are differences between foreign membership contracts and travel merchants in Taiwan. Third, Timeshare is the core superiority of Taipei International Fair. Last, there was a significant main effect of marriage and occupation on travel attitude and needs of Timeshare. In summary, government ought to set a proper regulation to protect consumers’ rights, and to develop timeshare positively. Most of the participants consider timeshare positively, thus, it is urgent to avoid the consumers’ uncertain for timeshare. The results may be the index for developing strategies for timeshare in Taiwan.
