| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立台北護理學院 === 旅遊健康研究所 === 96 === Tourism and travel industry has been a focus of government policies, while the travel safety becomes a more important topic concerned. Travel safety influences both demand and supply of tourism in the travel industry and since the university which is the source of tourism human resource, will provide safety education to prevent risk. With this background, this study is aimed to explore the implementation or development of travel safety education for college and university in higher education. The main purposes of this research are: First, to understand and explore the development of travel safety education. Then, to investigate and understand the lecturers’ opinions on travel safety education.
After analyzing the development of travel safety education, we obtain a preliminary structure of the travel safety education system. Related data were collected by semi-structural interview. With the chair person who worked in the higher education by purposive sampling. The implementation of travel safety education and the suggestion for travel safety education development is what we concerned. The manuscripts of the participants were cross-checked and compared with literature review.
The major findings of this study were as follows: Mostly Interviewees agree that travel safety education was important and required in university. But in this situation, the courses were not well planned, and only few colleges and universities arranged the course in elective options. Because of the wide content, travel safety education is not easy to be promoted and developed and teaching materials were not adequacy. It is suggested to have a lecture or practice on the teaching process. The teaching objectives should be based on the needs and characteristics of students in university. Finally, it is also suggested basic travel safety knowledge should be provided in university and advanced course for on-the-job training.
