Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北商業技術學院 === 商學研究所 === 96 === Total Quality Management (TQM) is an important concept of management and application of management philosophy. TQM is widely adopted in Europe, the US, and Japan, and empirically proved to strengthen competitiveness of enterprises. Some corporations in Taiwan, in particular those in the electronics industry, have succeeded in adopting TQM. Studies have focused on the ways to adopt TQM, the assessment of its impact on quality improvement, but not on the impact of TQM on employees’ work attitudes and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). This study investigates the impact of TQM on employees’ work attitudes and OCB in the electronics industry in Taiwan, by integrating industrial management, human resources management, and strategic management as the overarching management philosophy, and statistically testing fourteen related hypotheses that are developed from theory.
Empirical evidence demonstrates that the adoption of TQM influences positively both employee’s work attitudes and OCB, and that employees’ work attitude influences positively OCB. In addition to advance these theories, this study also helps managers in the electronics industry make their management strategies.
