Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 熱帶農業暨國際合作系所 === 96 === The goal of this thesis is to understand the correlation between the different root damage and different species of street-tree on the main roads in Taitung city. The differences of root damage were caused by different street-tree species in frame, pavement and curbs of sidewalk. The different types of the trees include the species of the trees, the height of the trees, the section of the top, the condition of the trees, spacing in the rows, the diameter, the proportion of exposed roots, the modes of cave, the size of cave, the ground cover, the types of pavements. The method of the survey is to encode the items according to different ranks. The researcher used Spearman Correlation coefficient analysis to analyze the statistics . The researcher surveyed nine main roads. There are eight species including Terminalia boivinii Tul., Chorisia speciosa St.Hill., Bombax ceiba L., Delonix regia(Boj)Raf., Koelreuteria formosana Hay., Alstonia scholaris R.Br., Swietenia macropnlla King, Liquidambar formosana Hance. The result revealed that the different species caused different proportion of damage. The species that were ranked according to different proportion of damage are as followings. The highest is Alstonia scholaris R.Br., and then Bombax ceiba L., and thenTerminalia boivinii Tul., and then Terminalia boivinii Tul., and then Chorisia speciosa St.Hill., and then Swietenia macropnlla King, and then Delonix regia(Boj)Raf., and then Liquidambar formosana Hance, and then Koelreuteria formosana Hay. The damage to the frame is the most serious. And the damage to the pavement is less serious. The damage to the curbs is lightest. As for the characteristics of the trees, the taller the trees are, the thicker the diameter they have. The more proportion of exposed roots there are, the more damages to the Structure there are. The worse condition the trees are, the less proportion of the damages there are. The plants with the ground cover lighten the damage to the Structure. As for the modes of the cave, one tree caused more damage to the frames than two trees do. And one tree equipped a seat causes the highest damage. The ground cover with over three trees is the last one to cause damage. As for the materials of the pavement, the coin bricks causes the highest damage. And the cement does less damage. And the chain bricks which are more pervious to water causes the lightest damage.
