The investigation was divided into two groups. One group was clinically normal eyes, and the other was inflammatory eyes. The antibiotic susceptible patterns of isolated conjunctival bacterial flora were determined. The period of sample collecting is from April, 2006 to March, 2007.Among the 44 ( 40 dogs ) inflammatory eyes, 42 eyes showed bacterial growth. There were 53 bacterial isolations from diseased eyes involving coagulase positive Staphylococcus sp.( 43.4% ),coagulase negative Staphylococcus sp. ( 22.6% ), Streptococcus sp. ( 7.6% ), Pseudomonas aeroginosa ( 5.7% ), Escheriachia coli( 18.9% ), and Samonella sp.( 1.9% ). Among the 100 eyes without ocular diseases, 54 eyes exhibited bacterial growth. There were 58 bacterial isolations from healthy eyes including coagulase positive Staphylococcus sp. ( 50% ), coagulase negative Staphylococcus sp. ( 37.9% ), Streptococcus sp. ( 1.7% ), Pseuomonas aeruginosa( 3.4% ), Escheriachia coli( 3.4% ) and Klebsiella sp. ( 3.4% ). Amikacin exhibited lower resistant percentage for each bacterial flora except Streptococcus sp.. Staphylococcus sp. could be the most opportunistic pathogens of ocular bacterial infection in the Southern Taiwan. Amikacin might be the first choice for controlling the canine ocular bacterial infection in the Southern Taiwan. Tu Chieh-Hsien 杜杰憲 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 60 zh-TW |
