Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 機械工程系所 === 96 === This article investigates the effects of blade-flap control of wind turbine performance. The concept is that for wind speed greater than the design rated speed, the blade-flap angle is increased to produce a different surface pressure distribution, which in turn reduces the torsional output, thereby maintaining rated power output and preventing damage to the generator due to excessive power output. The type of wind turbine modeled is a 3-blade design, with NACA-0012 airfoils. The parameters investigated are wind speed and flap angle. First, the momentum theory and blade element theory are used to calculate the blade rated angular velocity, the radius at each cross section, chord, relative velocity, pitch control, angle of attack, hub radius, tip speed, power output and power coefficient. The flowfield mesh is generated using the Gambit, and the flowfield solution is then achieved by using Fluent.
