Urge all countries concentrating on the measure and the research of the carbon sequestration that reduces the carbon dioxide. This research purpose understanding the carbon sequestration, the stand structure of the urban forest and the role played, inquiring into the main factor of influencing the carbon sequestration. Take the Kaoshiung city as to study the district, is a traditional heavy industry region due to the Kaoshiung city, depend on the covariance data of 2004 of the Kaoshiung city environmental protection bureau, the carbon dioxide always exhausts to about have whole Taiwan to always exhaust of 1/5 is the biggest greenhouse in Taiwan. Therefore, even show the Kaoshiung city urban forest potential and the value in the carbon sequestration. This research investigates through 62 ground plotses, evaluating the carbon sequestration that the method and the satellite image evaluate the method understanding urban forest with the IPCC, taking in to compare the difference that both evaluate. The this research's valuation toward the carbon sequestration and traditional ground investigate the way the dissimilarity, another usage remote sensing to evaluate the carbon sequestration of the urban forest. The remote sensing often gets by planting the index sign to monitor the appearance of the forest resource, by this change that understands the biomass to the carbon sequestration. The satellite image's valuation in the total carbon sequestration is investigating the carbon sequestration according to the NDVI data and the ground plots evaluate of result. This research as a result shows, the total carbon sequestration of the ground inquisition is 908,626.84 tons. The whole area carbon sequestration confidence interval is of the 780,490.79~1,116,833.84 tons. The factor that influences the carbon sequestration is the area of urban forest, the each ha stub tree density and diameter to distribute. The remote sensing evaluates the result R2 = 0.55, the total carbon sequestration is 878,391.09 tons. The whole area carbon sequestration confidence interval is of the 745,066.19~958,010.72 tons. The analyzing result of remote sensing and the ground plots investigate to evaluate the method to as a result compare with the IPCC, both of margin mainly is be subjected to the satellite image space resolution resampling, the NDVI and soil background interference, the crown density influence, and the ground plotses inquisition data and the remote sensing image selection time are different, influencing the NDVI to at that time the valuation of the ground vegetation.
