Four vegetation types were identified using detrended correspondence analysis (DCA) and two-way indicator species analysis (TWINSPAN). The vegetation types were Carpinus kawakamii type, Rhododendron formosanum type, Eurya loquaiana-Machilus japonica type and Beilschmiedia erythrophloia-Machilus thunbergii type. The stone had significant correlation with the first axis of DCA, furthermore, the altitude and topographic position had significant correlation with the second axis. Beilschmiedia erythrophloia-Machilus thunbergii type had the highest amount of species. Beilschmiedia erythrophloia-Machilus thunbergii type and Eurya loquaiana-Machilus japonica type had the highest value of Evenness index and Shannon-Wiener index.
