| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 視覺藝術學系 === 96 === The China seal has long history. According to its development in its heyday, it can be divided into three periods, namely, the Warring States Period, the Qin and Han Dynasties and the Ming and Qing Dynasyties. The font of the Warring States Period is the most difficult to understand since characters different from region to region. During the Warring States Period, the seal has six systems, respectively Qin, Chu, Yan, Qi, Shanxi (Han, Zhao Wei) and the Sichuan region in accordance with the region it exists. The book, Compilation of the Ancient Royal Seal, edited by Fu-YI Lo, collecting 5708 seal imprints, is the an integrated book talking about the seal. The ancient royal seals are hard for seal carvers to do research since the seals collected in Compilation of the Ancient Royal Seal were eroded away with time passing by.
In recent twenty years, the investigation of the seals has reached the highest point for the increasing number of source books coming out of an excavation, scholars devoting themselves to the investigation and relevant books continuously published. Though the breadth and depth has made much progress, there are few people investigating the composition of seal cutting. It’s a pity that there is no scholar conducting the research on the composition of the ancient seal except for the author’s professor, Lin Wen-Yen, who investigated thoroughly on it. My research, based on the scholars having examined on the field, is to analyze the composition, unique character, and distinctive style of the seal in the book of Compilation of the Ancient Royal Seal through archive analysis by using the method of collection, analysis, induction and application
Through archive analysis by using the method of collection, analysis, induction and application, my research, based on the scholars having examined on the field, is to analyze the composition, unique character, and distinctive style of the seal in the book of Compilation of the Ancient Royal Seal.
Moreover, explaining the profound in simple terms by giving example works of the modern artists, analyzing their model, composition and the effort they attain are in this research.I hope that the research will inspire me to create new works and use for recreation.
