This research adopts the method of questionnaire survey, targeting on twenty-four male and female teams (12 teams for each gender) with 269 players of the College Volleyball League (advanced-level) in the academic year 2007. In addition, the obtained data have been analyzed by means of descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson product-moment correlation and Scheffe posteriori comparison, etc. According to this study’s research results and discussions, the outcomes are proposed as follows: 1. Regarding the present status of the perceived coaches’ leadership behavior of the players attending the College Volleyball League, “training and coaching behavior” occupies the highest dimension; the highest dimension for the organizational atmosphere is “factor of cohesion”, and the highest dimension for the satisfaction of players is “coaches’ leadership aspect”. 2. Comparing the differences of the players of the College Volleyball League with different background variables in the aspect of coaches’ leadership behavior, there are obvious differences in “gender” and “playing age”; regarding the comparison of the differences in organizational atmosphere, evident differences can be seen in the aspects of “gender”, “playing position” and “different level”; concerning the comparison of the differences in the satisfaction of players, there are apparent differences in “gender”, “different grade” and “playing age”. 3. The correlative status between the coaches’ leadership behavior, organizational atmosphere and satisfaction of players for the players attending the College Volleyball League with various backgrounds: “autocratic behavior” of the coaches'' leadership behavior and “order behavior” of the organizational atmosphere, as well as “autocratic behavior” of the coaches'' leadership behavior and “individual aspect” and “coaches’ leadership aspect” of the satisfaction of players all fail to have obvious correlations, whereas other aspects all possess positive correlations. Abstract
This research aims to understand coaches’ leadership behavior of the players attending the College Volleyball League, organizational atmosphere and satisfaction of players, and also discusses the differences of the players with different backgrounds in terms of coaches’leadership behavior, organizational atmosphere and satisfaction of players and the relationship between these three variables.
