The body size and morphological development has difference at the zoeal stages among the four species in Scylla. The difference of each characteristic region is type of setae on third segmented of endopod of Second maxilliped in zoea I-III. The S. olivacea can distinguish with other three species, because it have two or upward the serrate setae on this characteristic in zoea I-V. After zoea IV, the difference is more obvious. The S. paramamosain without any plumose setae on third segmented of endopod of Second maxilliped. The S. serrata with 1 pair movable spine on outer margin of telson. The S. tranquebarica with 2 pair non-movable spine on outer margin of telson, respectively. This study also made use morphological of zoeal to differentiate on the phylogeny which four species of Scylla. After the comparison, the S. olivacea is obviously with other species of differences. Should be independent population. Besides, by comparing the diamond-shaped area demarcated by the rostral spine, dorsal spine and lateral spine, larval's floating ability was discussed. It was found that the S. serrata have larger areas, so that their distribution was much wilder than the other species of Scylla. Therefore, the floating ability has seems influences on the distribution of species. On the relationship between chlea's developmental stage and its ratio out of the whole body, it was found in this study that the biggest chelas were developed fastest and occupied most of the body ratio, which seemed to be related to its assault after metamorphosis. Additionally, the differences with three genus twelve species in the same family were also compared of zoeal in Scylla, Portunus and Thalamita. Through find after the comparison, the difference is on outer-lateral spine of telson in three genus. Among them, there is one pair of spine on outer-lateral spine of telson of Scylla and Portunus. But the Portunus is obviously smaller than Scylla, and presentation of bow-shaped. There are naught to two pair of small spine on outer-lateral spine of telson of Thalamita.
