The married couples who have not given birth are often to blame. However, little scholarly attention had been paid to the decision is reached. With a political stance of advocating alternative family forms, this thesis states in the respect of multi-culture family standpoint. With the non-random sampling way, 4 wives of "non-children family" were recruited in this study. Thorough deep interviewing, I generalized the reasons why these families have no child and the forming process of the non-children families. I also analyzed the oppression that participants have suffered from patriarchy ideology put on them by pushing them to have babies as soon as possible. And finally I declare some strategies when they face the oppression. I pointed out the causes of the non-children family has not given birth are complicated, multiple, and interactive. It is an “immediately” condition after the negotiations between husband and wife who have both considered various factors including their past childhood experience, their health or life state now, and the cost and apprehension over children raising. In simple terms, the decision of non-children is not always sable, on the contrary, it is continuously changing under different social situated. The non-children family members face the heaviest pressure in the third year after marriage by being asked the question ”What time do you plan to give birth to a child?” over and over again. Besides, their relatives and friends urge that married couples to have babies in various ways. At the same time, the mass media reproduce the encouragement of production which indicating nuclear-family ideology. This research considers the characteristic of non-children as a stigma attribute. I have found that non-children family members make stigma management: They choose to blurring and segregating their attribute of non-children in the forbidden and public area. When it comes to the situation that they have to present themselves, causing the compulsive association between women production, women seek support from their friends while men can controvert the mainstream discourse easily. Being non-children family provides an opportunity for women to rethink about the necessary of motherhood and loosening the authority of childbirth. The non-children family create inverse discourse which challenging mainstream family and declaring the legitimacy of non-children family. After all, the non-children family members not only have agency for their stigma management, but they also demonstrate floating and various subjectivity in post-modernism way.
