Through the subject’s narration of her own life, the researcher was able to discuss the influences by her illness experiences. Furthermore, related discussions such as the subject’s body image of her pre-amputation and post-amputation periods, her self-concept and peer relationship were also taken into consideration. Most of all, the female subject’s resilience was presented in this study. The instrument utilized in this study is the interview with the female subject. Therefore, this study presented the subjective experiences of the amputated girl and narrated how she went through her sense of lost, her sadness and how she fought for her life till her recovery. The life story of the amputated girl in this study was based on holistic-content analysis. As for the data analysis, categorical-content was employed. The research was fourfold. To begin with, this study focused on the subject’s illness experiences. In other words, by having a full understanding about the subject’s illness experiences, the researcher could understand how the subject reacted, both physically and psychologically, after she was amputated, and how the subject adapted her life after her amputation. Second, the subject’s psychological development, that is, the effects on her psychological development, body image and self-concept, is one of the major discussions. Moreover, the nature and process of resilience of the subject was emphasized in this study. The major findings were summarized as follows: 1.Illness had an effect on the amptutee’s viewpoints toward life and death. Supports from family members also influenced the amputee’s recovery. 2.Amputation led to the change of body image and self-concept of adolescent patients. It also affected their peer relationships. 3.The supports of significant others also had an effect on the patients’ recovery and adoption. 4.The recovery of amputated patients was affected by their personality, family support system, and social support system. Finally, reflections and suggestions of this study were provided for the further research and schoolworkers. 陳清泉 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 147 zh-TW
