Parent-children Shared Reading
Abstract
This research aims to treat the effect upon parent-children shared reading. And this research was conducted under “Standard Experimental Method” to probe into the feasibility of parent-children shared reading which gives harmonious relationship between parent and children. Also, this research offers the reference to the workers who go into domestic upbringing.
It is sampled from the sixth grade students and 48 parents for each student in an elementary school in Kaohsiung County. All of them were divided into three groups: the controlled group, parent homework-counseling group and parent-child shared reading group. Therefore, this research was introduced with “The pretest-posttest equivalent group design” and the research instrument bases on the scores of the compiled parent-child relationship scale which is the index of the parent-child relationship. The relationship was divided into three factors including: close feeling, admiring, communication.
The research had analyzed the subjects’ variations of pretest, posttest and traced according to the Dependent samples T and the Independent samples T. And the upshots are as below:
1. To those sixth grade students in the elementary school in Kaohsiung County, parent-children shared reading is significant to the pretest and posttest of the subjects’ parent-child relationships. It is an effective treatment.
2. To those sixth grade students in the elementary school in Kaohsiung
County, students and their parents had been traced after the shared
reading had ended two weeks; the variations of posttest and pretest
are so significant that shows the lasting effect.
According to the research upshots, submit specific advice for parents, school, parenting institutes and parenting workers as parent-child shared reading references.
