Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 音樂學系 === 96 === Due to the influence of opéra bouffe and salon music, the composition of instrument music was not appreciated in 19th century France. The development of instrument music has become quite conservative and its musical aesthetics made a great impact on other categories of composing. As a result, “Societe Nationale de Musique” was founded in 1871. Thanks to the efforts of many composers, such as César Franck (1822-1890) et al, the golden age of French music was then started and the French modern music was based on the result of it. The study was divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction which explains motif, purpose, range, method, and bibliography. The second chapter focused on how Franck transformed his musical characteristics and style based on traditional and innovative concepts during this period. The third chapter described the aesthetics of Romanticism and the music scene in 19th century France. The fourth chapter introduced the biography and music style of Franck and his piano compositions. The fifth chapter analyzed the musical characteristics and style of Prélude, Choral et Fugue as well as Franck’s composition structure and the relation with Prélude, Choral et Fugue. The fifth chapter was the conclusion. It is hoped that after analyzing all related concepts, music lovers can understand more how Franck integrated the new and old style into a harmonious state and how a new era of French music was created.
