碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 國文教學碩士班 === 96 === Extensive research has been done on Strange Tales of Liaozhai, the essay written by Pu Sungling, especially on the topics regarding love and passion. However, the research on the homosexual passion has not received much attention. Therefore, in addition to the study of heterosexual passion, this thesis mainly investigates homosexual passion suing the methodology of physiology, psychology, and literature analyses. In addition, this thesis study the influence of historic background on Pu’s writing. In particular, the rising of modern passion and desire during the Ming and Qing dynasty inspired Pu’s avant-grade writing regarding the passion and sex desire. As a failure under the imperial examination system, Pu had special observation on females under the patriarchy, homosexual, and those with eccentric sex. Under the traditional culture and code of conduct, the aforementioned groups become mute suppressed people. Although the study of homosexuality often encounters embarrassed in Taiwan, a lot of discussion emerges in a wide area such literature, television, movie, and business interaction. This thesis tries to find the clues and information from Strange Tales of Liaozhai and demonstrates that several articles in Strange Tales of Liaozhai exploit the topic regarding homosexuality in ether direct or indirect descriptions. This thesis also discusses the eccentric sex and analyzes the heterosexual passion, and then give a whole picture regarding the love passion and sex desire in Strange Tales of Liaozhai.
