The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of the information technology teachers’ job satisfaction in the public elementary schools in Kaohsiung County. The differences between personal background variables and work-related variables were also compared in this research.
The Questionnaire for the Job Satisfaction of the Information Technology Teachers in Elementary Schools was designed by the researcher and served as the research tool. It had five main aspects in this questionnaire: the job, the working environment, the professional development, the personal relationship, and the school administration.
The questionnaire was sent to a population of 117, and 109 copies were returned. The total effective copies were 108. The collected data were statistically analyzed by the descriptives, t-test, and one-way ANOVA.
The results are as follows:
1. The respondents regard their overall job satisfaction as acceptable.
2. The respondents regard good personal relationships as the most satisfactory among these 5 aspects.
3. The degrees of satisfaction in evaluating the work environment and interacting with the school administration are more dispersive in the distribution of the responses.
4. There is a positive correlation between the teachers’ professional background and their job satisfaction.
5. Respectively, there are significant differences between the teachers’ job satisfaction and the years on the job, the position in school, and the reasons for the job.
The following suggestions are proposed based on the above results:
1. Suggestions for the related educational authorities and schools:
