Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 營建工程所 === 96 === Progress control and cost control are the two main focuses of performance management for construction projects; hence many contractors often purposely adjust their planned progress for initial and middle phases of a project to lower percentages so as to avoid being punished by the contract for excessive delay. As a result, to the owner, the warning mechanism for managing schedule risk and the basis for controlling budget execution both are lost. Therefore, this research will develop reasonable upper and lower bounds of progress for bridge construction projects, which can be used as a basis for evaluating a planned schedule and the actual progress during construction.
Presently, there have been a number of researches on the banana curve model for road and building construction projects, but study of progress model for common bridge construction projects is still lacking. Therefore, this research collected 22 major bridge project cases and investigated features of the distributions for forecasted progress, actual progress, and payment progress. Then, S-curve and banana curve models for the bridge projects were developed. A comparison of S-curves for bridge projects between concrete, steel, and mixed construction methods was made, as well as a comparison of banana curves for bridge projects with those for building and road projects.
