Four relevant associations, Taiwan Association of Japanese education(台灣日語教育學會)、Taiwan Association of Translation and interpretation (台灣翻譯學學會)、Japanese Language , Literature and culture studies Association of Taiwan (台灣日本語言文藝研究學會), Taiwan Application Japanese Association(台灣應用日語學會)have been established successively during these years . However, students or even teachers of Japanese department are usually not clear about the existence or functions of the associations. For those which have gone through innumerable hardships to be founded, they imperceptibly lose plenty of valuable talented people and resources. For these reasons, this study aims at arranging information about the five associations to have them understood more and used more frequently. Then, people of abilities may be willing to join them, and Japanese education in Taiwan can be more successful and prosperous. This thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter One is the introduction which elaborates the motive and the purpose of the research, a pilot study, the range of the research, and its structure. Chapter Two introduces the associations from the aspects of their backgrounds, characteristics and current situations. Chapter Three explains regulations of the associations, including general principles, tasks, types of members, rights and obligations, different conferences, budgets, and accountings, through the analysis of their memoranda. In the fourth chapter, theses and materials appeared on journals or in regular sessions and international seminars are analyzed and collected in order to hand down those precious theses and provide the learners for reference. Published by people who mastered in Japanese education earlier, Chapter Five is the conclusion that proposes suggestions to associations and future challenges to be dealt with from the result of the analysis.
