After using the means of after-school writing, communicating with students, and contacting with parents and home-visits, the problem stillcould not turn to be better. Therefore I decided to do an action research to seek for breaking through. At first, through self-narrative, I made clear what I think about students’not completing homework. In the process of narration, I was conscious of the conflicts between my values and students’not completing homework. Then through self-reflection, I gained a deeper comprehension on teacher-authority and real equity, thus I became willing to care for students’ independency. However, it is not easy to achieve practicing individual difference in a short time in the society that emphasizes on consistency and equity. But I gradually practiced the individualized homework in the spiral process. Two years ago, I conducted a pilot study to find out the solution for the problem of students’ not completing homework. The strategies were as follows: (a) interviewed the school teachers; (b) stopped writing down the ID number of students who did not complete homework on the black- board; (c) sympathized how students feel and carry out a small scale arrangement on different homework through gestalt guidance; (d) accepted students’different portions of lunch. Since then I determined to implement the individualized homework model, and practiced the spiral progress through repeating action, reflection, and correction to implement the action strategies. The individualized homework model combines with flexible homework system from Germany and weekly homework system from New Zealand. It is presented by the strategies of parent- teacher cooperation, group counseling, and individualized homework arrangement. I observed students’academic achievement on the first semester, visited their home during winter vacation to communicate with the parents and seek for their support. Then I carried out group counseling program and individualized homework on the second semester. During this period of time, I used the survey instruments to collect the viewpoints of parents and students about the individualized homework. And I took the teaching reflective journals to see the changes in the process of action research. Through a spiral process of action and introspection, even up to now, I still keep improving. The most benefits after implementing the individualized homework strategy are that students not completing homework were reduced; students also could respect differences of other groups with the viewpoint that everyone has his merit. My endeavor and growth during the study change my educational beliefs. Therefore, as the conclusion, I recommend prospection and suggestions on the matters of research and homework issue for myself and future researchers. May-Chu Lin 林美珠 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 217 zh-TW |

碩士 === 國立花蓮教育大學 === 國民教育研究所 === 96 === This research was originated from an elementary school teacher who encountered the problem of students’ not completing their homework . After using the means of after-school writing, communicating with students, and contacting with parents and home-visits, the problem stillcould not turn to be better. Therefore I decided to do an action research to seek for breaking
through.
At first, through self-narrative, I made clear what I think about students’not completing homework. In the process of narration, I was conscious of the conflicts between my values and students’not completing homework. Then through self-reflection, I gained a deeper comprehension on teacher-authority and real equity, thus I became willing to care for students’
independency. However, it is not easy to achieve practicing individual difference in a short time in the society that emphasizes on consistency and equity. But I gradually practiced the individualized homework in the spiral process.
Two years ago, I conducted a pilot study to find out the solution for the problem of students’
not completing homework. The strategies were as follows: (a) interviewed the school teachers; (b) stopped writing down the ID number of students who did not complete homework on the black-
board; (c) sympathized how students feel and carry out a small scale arrangement on different
homework through gestalt guidance; (d) accepted students’different portions of lunch. Since
then I determined to implement the individualized homework model, and practiced the spiral
progress through repeating action, reflection, and correction to implement the action strategies.
The individualized homework model combines with flexible homework system from Germany and weekly homework system from New Zealand. It is presented by the strategies of parent-
teacher cooperation, group counseling, and individualized homework arrangement. I observed
students’academic achievement on the first semester, visited their home during winter vacation to communicate with the parents and seek for their support. Then I carried out group counseling
program and individualized homework on the second semester.
