Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 人資處課程與教學碩士班 === 96 === The main purposes of the study is the investigation of how to apply responsibility in character education with picture books. Students of grade 4 in Taichung County Long-Hai elementary school are the main participants in this research,by the research personally teaching, carries on once a week,each time two classes, ten weeks altogether 20 classes. The study employed of both quantitative and qualitative methods. On the quantitative part, the study designed the Responsibility Questionnair to conduct pretest and posttest measures. On the qualitative part, data collection included feedback sheets from experiment students and parants , and teaching reflection as the evidence of experimental effects. The results of this study were summarized as follows: 1. After applying picture books teaching activities, the perform of experimental group is much better than control group obviously. 2. According to Non-parametric Statistics, picture books teaching activities for the effect of the responsibility concept of the fourth grade students is noticeable diversity. 3. According to the data collection of these feedback sheets from experiment students and parants ,most students have high valuations toward “apply responsibility in character education with picture books ” showed concrete behavior about responsibility. This study ,in sum ,revealed that the effectiveness of enhancing children’s character education was generally positive. Finally, according to the results, There are some concrete suggestions to teachers, schools and future study for proceed the character education.
