Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 電機工程學系 === 96 === Along with Taiwan’s economic growth, the life expectancy of Taiwanese almost reaches 80 years old, therefore the aging population problem has gain more attention in recent years. Chronic disease and aging are highly correlated with each other, thus people are willing to put more effort on healthcare issue now in Taiwan , this demonstrates that Taiwanese are not job-first oriented anymore! Personal healthcare and chronic diseases prevention have become an important lesson that must be learned. Many studies used pulse wave velocity (PWV) to assess the health of blood vessels. Although the correlation between PWV and atherosclerosis has been well established 6, PWV has limitation for diagnosis of early atherosclerosis formation since PWV represents the end stage of atherosclerosis. Unlike PWV, the assessment of endothelial dysfunction can provide early information of atherosclerosis. Since endothelial dysfunction is reversible 7, early detection of endothelial malfunction provides greater therapeutic and prognostic values than PWV assessment does. In this study, we integrated two algorithms for endothelial dysfunction assessment, first algorithm, DI-Amplitude, adopts the algorithm used in RH-PAT and second algorithm, area under the curve of DVP, is a novel algorithm for endothelialfunction assessment. We proved these two algorithm are highly correlated, in addition, both algorithms showed statistically correlation with age, which is a major risk factor for endothelial function, and this has proven that algorithms and self-developed instrument have the capability for endothelial function assessment.
