碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 輔導與諮商學系研究所 === 96 === Abstract The purpose of this research is to understand the life after retiring of female teachers, and probe into the self- pursuit in their retired course , as well as the topics affected by genders and elder concept etc.. In the research, we invite five retired female teachers to carry on depth interview to obtain the materials separately . And in accordance with narrative analysis to the research approach , we can carry on the story and the analysis of the materials . According to the result of study, there are four themes in the retired course of studying the participant: First, determine to retire; Second, in face of retiring; Third, adjustment after retiring; Fourth, retired life. The complex influence of individual , family and social aspect on retired course will cause loss, puzzlement and bewilderment in the initial stage of retiring, but through proper adjustment, most of them can reorganize themselves to develop individual life style and act successfully new retired role well. This research finds that the retired lives of the five female teachers are multiplex, colorful, healthy, relaxing, meaningful and valuable. Due to the difference of self-concepts, the five participants in this research have five different retired lives with different selfhood styles ; but all of them fortunately composed the splendid and beautiful life chapters in their retired lives . This research the retired female teachers are influenced by the themes of sex concept, which includes the woman's oneself; eternal mother's duty; and home－the all of one's life. And the themes influenced by elder concepts are plans of elder life, care at heart and the future. The result of study shows that family is the eternal home for anyone of them. As for the elder concept , it does not have obvious influence on their retired lives. Most of them can be healthy and happy, with the beautiful and bright thinking, to meet the retired career. Finally, the study will state the restrictions and according to the conclusion studied, the research gives suggestions to the policy of the government, the practice of counseling, the retired female teachers and the directions for future study.
