This research utilized symmetrical group design and selected 49 students from 6 junior high schools in Chang-Hua as research subjects. These students, in grade 7 and grade 8, were evaluated as having low school achievement by the counseling center or the teachers in charge of the class. 25 students were assigned randomly to the experimental group, and 24 students to the controlled group. The researcher also made sure that the research didn’t influence the students’ learning at school. In the experimental stage, the experimental group were treated with metaphor counseling treatment three times, while the controlled group received no treatment. However, the controlled group received the same treatment after the experimental stage. This research adopted Academic Self-Efficacy Scales of Self-regulated Learning Scales, Academic Explanatory Style Inventory, Academic Attendable Viewpoint Scales and Academic Help-Seeking Behavior Scales to evaluate the result of the dependent variable in the post test of the participator. The data was analyzed with t test. The main findings were as following: 1.The metaphor counseling treatment could advance the academic self-efficacy of junior high school students. 2. The metaphor counseling treatment could advance academic attendable viewpoint. 3. The metaphor counseling treatment had no significant effect on academic explanatory style of junior high school students. 4. The metaphor counseling treatment could advance academic help-seeking behavior of teachers.
