Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 復健諮商研究所 === 96 === This study investigated the question of whether adults with autism improved their social skills in the workplace after receiving self-management training. The effect of self-management training was evaluated in the multiple-probe design across behaviors, which is used for single-subject experimental design. The independent variable was the self-management training, while the dependent variable was the social skill performance of the subject in the workplace. The subject who worked in a gas station with electrical car washer, was found having problems in his social skills while he dried the wet cars. Three target behaviors of the subject were identified. They were (a) to display good manner by saying“welcome”to customers, (b) to take up his proper place actively, and (c) to conform the work procedures. The data analysis in this research is visual analysis. In addition, to have a broader understanding of the impact of the training, the researcher also interviewed the job coach in the workplace and the subject’s mother. As such a certain degree of social validity was also established.
