In the field, we fetch the blade of the second phyllotaxy of Thalassia hemprichii at random in three seagrass beds. The rapid light curve (RLC) and Fv/Fm function of the Diving-PAM were utilized to measure the photosynthetic performance of seagrasses in situ. According to correlation alalysis, there were significantly positive correlation between shoot density and Fv/Fm (P<0.05), DIP and leaf length (P<0.05) and negative correlation between Chl a/b ratio and Fv/Fm (P<0.05). Thalassia hemprichii seagrass beds at Wanlitung were located in a closed tidal pool. The lowest IK of T. hemprichii at Wanlitung revealed that it need lower light intensity to reach the maximum electron transport rate. In addition, T. hemprichii at Wanlitung had the lowest Chl a/b ratio and the highest Fv/Fm and shoot density (P<0.05). In these results, we presumed that the type of habitat will affect the photosynthetic performance, chlorophyll composition and the shoot density of T. hemprichii.
