Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 製造工程研究所碩博士班 === 96 === This thesis investigates the design theory of a gantry type 3-axis linear motor machine tool. The major purpose is to apply a linear motor machine tool into practical machining applications. The developed linear motor machine tool is composed of 4 sets of linear motors. First, the commercial software Pro/E is used to configure and draw the 3D diagram of the structure of the developed machine tool. This structure is composed of working table, base structure, sliding rails and z-axis. The rigidity analysis is performed by using ANASYS Workbench software. For enhancing the strength of the components, the analysis results are very helpful for improving and reducing their weight and increase rigidity. Several CAD models are built by UG in this research, and UG/CAM post processor is also used to generate the cutting path of the created CAD model. The obtained cutting path is then input into a PC-based CNC controller for practical machining tests. A series of discussions about the precision of cutting results are also given in this research.
