Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 系統及船舶機電工程學系碩博士班 === 96 === The main tasks include characteristics analyses of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) laminated with glass fibers and unsaturated polyester resins and laminations of vessel hulls with selecting suitable combinations between Kevlar fiber and Vinyl ester resin, Carbon fiber and Epoxy resin, and Glass fiber and unsaturated polyester resin. Six hulls with combinational fibers and resins and one sandwich panel with GFRP inserting Balsa wood are laminated. For mechanical performance analyses, seven specimens cut from hulls are made and tested according to ASTM and IMO Resolution A.754(18). Six specimens are constructed by adding intumescent fire resistance coating and fire resistance wooden board for fire resistance performance testing. Test results show that the tensile, flexural, and shear strength properties of the specimens made by vacuum bag are better than that made by hand lay-up method. Composite plastic with Kevlar fiber layers separately distributed into the glass fiber layers has good mechanical performance than that of concentrative lamination of Kevlar fiber. Fire retardant GFRP laminated by glass fiber and fire retardant resins mixed by unsaturated polyester resin and flame retardant provides good fire resistance performance than that without flame retardant. But the mechanical performances are seriously decreased. For fire resistance tests, 3 specimens are demonstrated to have 1 hour fire resistance performance and 3 arein half hour performance. Poison gas and pungent smoke are produced when the composite plastics are burning. They result the obstacle for crew to flee for safe life. It is considered that active extinguishers such as fine mist spray equipment can effectively decreased the amount of Poison gases and pungent smoke when the equipment is installed.
