The study includes the field geological surveys such as rock type, attitude of slope and discontinuity (including strata), density of discontinuity; and interpretation of air photography, geology map, morphology map and satellite image. Four indices: ISS ( index of slanting of the slope), IDS( index of down sloping) IV (index of volume of mass wasting by down sloping) and IVDS (index of dangerous mass wasting by down sloping) are calculated to evaluate the mass wasting potential for rocK slope. 5 outcrops are syn-slant slopes, 6 outcrops are anti slant slopes; 3 outcrops are slumped debris. The rocK sliding is the major pattern of mass wasting in syn-slant slopes, while debris fall or rock fall is the major pattern of mass wasting in anti-slant slope.
